Shawarma is a type of oriental food that is most preferred by Arabs, especially in the Levant. It consists of meat or chicken grilled vertically using heat and radiation resulting from it, which can come from electricity, gas, or coal. The meat is cut to prepare a plate of shawarma, and this meal is sold in fast food restaurants. Shawarma meat can be beef, camel meat, lamb, or chicken meat, where the meat is placed on a metal skewer and grilled to different diameters. Shawarma is considered one of the most popular types of street food in the world, and is very popular in Egypt, the Levant, and the Arabian Peninsula.
Shawarma ingredients:
3 chicken breasts
2 tablespoons yogurt
1 tablespoon vinegar
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon turmeric
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon spice
A pinch of black pepper
How to prepare:
In a medium-sized bowl, mix yogurt, vinegar, lemon juice, olive oil, garlic, turmeric, cumin, and spices.
Cut the chicken breasts into thin slices and add them to the mixture of spices and yogurt.
Stir the ingredients well until they combine, then cover the bowl and put it in the refrigerator for an entire night to marinate the chicken.
Heat a little oil in a pot, then add the chicken slices and stir until the ingredients change color.
Leave the shawarma slices on the fire for approximately 15 minutes until they are cooked and browned.
