Znoud Al-Sitt |
Znoud al-Sit is a type of dessert known in Syria and Iraq. It consists of baklava dough stuffed with cream or pudding, then sprinkle with a little syrup or syrup. Garnish with grated pistachios1. The origin of Znoud Al-Sitt sweets goes back to the city of Kirkuk and is especially famous for it in Baghdad
Ingredients:
2 cups flour
4 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp milk powder
Water (half a cup or according to the dough)
Cooking:
In a bowl, mix flour, vegetable oil, salt, and milk powder.
Gradually add water and knead the ingredients until you get a smooth and firm dough.
Cut the dough into small pieces and roll out each piece into a rectangle.
Place a favorite filling inside each rectangle of dough (such as cream or cream).
Close the dough around the filling tightly.
Heat the oil in a deep frying pan and fry the znood until golden.
Transfer the znood to kitchen paper to get rid of excess oil.
Dip the triggers in the cold syrup.
Serve the six znood decorated with ground pistachios.
Filling:
You can try different inserts for the six zippers. If you prefer walnut desserts, try using a mixture of roasted walnuts, sugar and cinnamon as a filling.
For chocolate desserts, use small pieces of dark chocolate or milk as a filling.
You can also try pistachio filling or even dried fruit filling such as dates or raisins.
Diameter:
The diameter is an important part of the six znood. You can prepare a simple Qatar from an equal mixture of sugar and water. Bring to a boil until slightly thick, then add a little blossom water or rose water to create a distinctive flavor.
Decorating:
After dipping the six nuts in the syrup, serve them in a serving dish and sprinkle the ground pistachios on top.
You can also garnish it with toasted almond flakes or sesame seeds.
